The National DPP Group Coaching Certificate Program (GCCP)
 
Description:
The Group Coaching Certificate Program was developed in collaboration with CDC, ACPM, NBHWC, and NBME—is designed for experienced National DPP Lifestyle Coaches ready to sharpen their group coaching skills and increase participant outcomes.
 
What’s Included:
The program consists of 4 components that coaches must complete to achieve the certificate: (1) Online Prework, (2) Live Training Sessions, (3) Exam, and (4) Training Evaluation.

Category I: Building Trust, Rapport, and Intimacy and Creating Coaching Presence 
Category II: Enhancing Communication Skills 
Category III: Applying Skills Specific to Groups 
Category IV: Cultivating Self-Management Skills 
Category V: Propelling Health Behavior Change
 
Proof That It Makes a Difference
Coaches who completed the GCCP reported noticeable improvements in their skills across most core competencies.
Participants in lifestyle change programs led by GCCP-trained coaches attended more sessions, remained in the program longer, and were more likely to reach risk-reduction milestones than those whose coaches had not completed the program.
Focus groups findings revealed that coaches had a positive overall experience, felt more confident in their coaching abilities, and appreciated the GCCP’s flexible schedule and practical structure.
These outcomes highlight the value of the Group Coaching Certificate Program as a powerful tool for Lifestyle Coaches to deepen their skills and better support participants in reaching their goals.

Are you a Lifestyle Coach for the National DPP Lifestyle Change Program?
Have you facilitated at least 1 full cohort of the Lifestyle Change Program?
Do you have reliable access to a computer and internet?
Would you be able to attend a live, virtual class of 60-120 minutes once per week for approximately 6 months?
Would you be able to complete 15-30 minutes of individual prework prior to each live class?
Is your employer supportive of your participation in this program?
